No One Figures This Out Alone: Reflections from the 2026 Future Health Best Conference

On March 21, 2026, physicians and health care leaders gathered in Waltham, MA for a day centered on one simple but powerful idea: better care starts with better support for the people delivering it. 

The Massachusetts Medical Society’s annual Future Health Best Practices for Advancing Care (FHB) conference brought together some of the brightest minds in medicine to tackle pressing challenges in the field and offer actionable solutions. 

This year’s sessions felt especially timely. The conversations on the floor weren’t just about what’s coming. They were about what’s already here: the rapid rise of AI in clinical settings, shifting policy landscapes, evolving immunization protocols, and the increasingly complex needs of an aging patient population. The energy in the room was a mix of urgency and hard-won hope, which is exactly where the best ideas tend to come from. 

Why These Conversations Matter Beyond the Conference Room 

Physicians and health care professionals are being asked to do more with less — more documentation, more complexity, more uncertainty — all while maintaining the quality of care their patients deserve.
