Women in Medicine Breakfast 2026: Starting the Day Right in Worcester, MA
September is Women in Medicine Month, a time to recognize the contributions, leadership, and resilience of women across the health care field. What better way to mark the occasion than gathering for the Worcester District Medical Society’s (WDMS) 35th Annual Women in Medicine Breakfast?
Held on September 25th, the breakfast brought together physicians, health care leaders, and community members to celebrate the women leading change and shaping the future of medicine. Kate Gerheim, Director of Operations, attended on behalf of Actuate Insurance to represent our continued support for this important event.
This year’s keynote speaker was Senator Robyn Kennedy, who serves as State Senator for the First Worcester District. A dedicated champion of the care economy, Senator Kennedy has focused her work on strengthening services from childcare to elder care, investing in the workforce, improving regional public transportation, and addressing racial and health inequities. During her remarks, she shared updates on upcoming legislation and bills affecting health care across Massachusetts.

This breakfast served as a meaningful close to Women in Medicine Month. We’re grateful to the WDMS for organizing the event, and proud to co-sponsor alongside the Massachusetts Medical Society. Whether in the clinic or the statehouse, the women leading change in health care today are shaping a healthier, more equitable future for us all.
