Tom began his insurance career in 2004 with a top 20 national brokerage after earlier roles in federal law enforcement and the marine/oil and gas industry in Canada. He joined the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) in 2011 and has served as President of the insurance agency since 2017.
He holds a Bachelor of Science from the College of Great Falls (now University of Providence), earned the ARM (Associate in Risk Management) designation in 2008, and completed the MIT Sloan School Executive Education Certificate in Strategy & Innovation in 2022.
From 2016 to 2018, Tom was an adjunct clinical assistant professor in the School of Health Sciences at Bryant University. He is licensed in Property, Casualty, Life, Accident, and Health across all New England states as well as NJ, NY, PA, OH, VA, FL, TX, and CA.
Tom advises the MMS Committee on Professional Liability and has developed malpractice video resources for Harvard Medical School. He has presented to residents at UMASS, senior and entrepreneurial physicians, and contributed to NEJM Resident 360 panels on financial topics important to early-career physicians.
